Work Packages BioChange is comprised of four different but complementary work packages, two cross-cutting projects and a thematic group which address the majority of drivers of immediate biodiversity loss. Several other cross-cutting themes will also be addressed by all of the work packages, although these are not directly funded. A number of working groups and desk studies will be set up to integrate current thinking/existing knowledge, and to identify priority areas for furture research funding. All work packages are centered around County Clare, including Galway Bay and the Aran Islands. Click on the links below for information on each element of the BioChange project. |
| Work package 1 | Landscape conservation - loss and fragmentation in a habitat mosaic |
| Work package 2 | Non-native species - impacts on biodiversity, strategies for management and predictions of future invasions |
| Work package 3 | Pollution as a driver of biodiversity change - impacts, indicators and long-term monitoring |
| Work package 4 | Natural resource exploitation and global change - the need for improved sustainable management to protect biodiversity |
| Cross-cutting project 1 | Biodiversity politics - policy, planning and public understanding |
